NAPOLEON HILL AND ABRAHAM HICKS

I have been thinking of Napoleon Hill’s law of attraction technique lately in terms of Abraham-Hicks teachings.

The basic formula by Napoleon Hill goes like this:

1. Be definite on how much money you want.

2. Decide what service you will give in return for this money.

3. Decide a definite date by which you will get this money.

4, Decide on the steps you will take to get what you want. Take action now, whether you are ready or not.

5. Write steps one thru four into one clear definite statement.

6. Read statement out loud after waking and before sleep. Believe, see, and feel yourself in possession of the money.

If I had to categorize each of the steps, it goes like this:

1. What

(What I want, the amount of money.)

2. How

(How I get what I want, by providing a certain service.)

3. When

(The date by which I expect to get the money.)

4. How

(How I provide the service to get the money. The action steps.)

I’ll also add:

Who

(Me. This is assumed since this is my plan. I may also have plans to work with certain people.)

Why

(Because I like being rich, free, and financially independent. Because it is fun. It feels like a goal and a direction in life. It feels good to provide a valuable service. It feels good to be successful. And so on.)

Where

(This could be right where I am or maybe I have to go to a certain town, state, or country to do what I want to do. This could fall under step 4 where I figure out the action steps.)

Abraham says that when I focus on What I want and Why I want it, I am in alignment.

When I try to figure out How, When, and Where, it can knock me out of alignment because those are usually unknowns.

Anything I don’t know right now can cause frustration, pessimism, doubt, worry, discouragement, etc. These are negative emotions that indicate negative thoughts and beliefs which mean that my vibration has lowered.

At lower vibrations, success eludes the person. Good health, happiness, love, success, prosperity, money and those sorts of “good” things are at the high vibrations. Anything that causes a lower vibration is causing lack.

So if being specific about all the details about the plan feels good, then focus on it. If it feels bad, don’t focus on those parts.

If How is unknown, think generally about it and keep focusing on What I want and Why.

Example:

What?

To to be financially independent and rich and free. To have lots of money in the bank. To always have money at my disposal to buy whatever I wish.

I can get more specific or not. It depends on how it feels. I can be specific about a hundred thousand dollars or a hundred million dollars as long as it still feels good. Otherwise, I can stay general.

Why?

Because that is a fun goal. Being financially free is fun. I like being able to go where I want, do what I want, live how I want, and to always have plenty in the bank. Being rich is fun. Being rich feels like freedom and independence. Being rich feels like success.

How?

I will let law of attraction bring me the How. I am sure there are plenty of ways, new and old, for me to feel rich. I am sure the action steps will come at the right time and will feel like excitement and eagerness and inspired.

The How takes care of itself, according to loa teachers like Abraham and Neville, as long as I feel rich and abundant first.

My goal and action plan today is to maintain my high emotional vibration and take any inspired action that come to me.

My action plan is to feel. Feel free, abundant, happy, rich, independent, successful, joyful, appreciative. I take an emotional journey today, from how I currently feel to feeling better about this subject of money.

If I have specific action steps that feel inspired, then I take it. If that be selling some product or service or taking a specific course or working at a specific career or place. I judge all actions by how they feel.

When?

At the right time. It is already happening as I ponder and think about it. It has already happened in my nonphysical reality. As I feel Abundant and rich now, I am accessing my own riches that exist in the nonphysical vibrational reality. I am turning thoughts into things thru my focusing and feelings.

EFFORTLESS

Today I had an aha moment. Like Abraham says, words do not teach, life experience does. And life experience taught me something.

I had started doing lots of goal setting, as I have mentioned in some of my recent blog posts.

I had been listening to lots of Reverend Ike and then reread Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And books and audio by Bob Proctor. Also a book on business goal setting called “Measure What Matters” by John Doerr. Books by Drucker who says “what gets measured gets managed.” Also I relistened to and reread The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. A goal setting article by Jim Collins. And on and on, I have been in super goal-setting mode.

The idea is to have a specific definite clear goal. Set a time limit. Read it in the morning after waking, before sleep, and often during the day. Take action steps towards the goal. Organized planning as Napoleon Hill calls it. I am to take action right now, whether I am ready or not.

Summarized, have a grand vision, a dream. Then have steps to get there that can be measured. Take those steps daily. See how far I have gotten after a certain period, and adjust the steps as needed.

So I did that.

And after many days (weeks?), I noticed that I had been getting more and more frustrated and discouraged! All this goal setting and goal obsession had lowered my vibration (emotions).

I became goal obsessed but my mood dropped.

This is when I remembered what Abraham had mentioned. High vibration is the goal. If goal setting feels good, do it. If goal setting feels bad, it is counter productive. If a certain goal and the steps feel good, do it. If a certain goal and/or certain steps feel bad, don’t do it.

High vibration is the end goal. Anything that lowers vibration is counter productive. This applies to all processes and actions.

GOING SPECIFIC

Abraham-Hicks teaches us how to get into the high vibrations (the vortex). This is a process of moving up the emotional guidance scale.

It is the idea of shifting emotions through thoughts. We go from specific negative to general negative to general positive to specific positive.

We can use any subject to feel good. That is the big secret. We don’t have to use the most difficult and negative subject and try to change it in order to feel good. We can use any simple topic to feel good.

Once we are in the vortex (top 4 emotions of Abraham’s scale), we can go specific on any topic. Do all the affirmations and visualizations and goal setting from inside the vortex. It will be much more effective.

To go specific, I am recently loving various teachers who teach the same thing. Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale (a student of Hill), Reverend Ike, RHJ, and Steve Harvey.

Decide.

Have a specific goal/desire/dream. Most people don’t decide. Make up your mind to have a specific desire on what you want. It is up to you to decide, no one else can do it for you. Even “God” can’t decide for you. The steering wheel is in your hands.

Write it down.

Write down your goals, desires, dreams. Be as specific as possible.

Napoleon Hill recommends writing the exact amount of money you desire, what you are willing to give as service to get it, the date by which you expect to get it, and to make a clear, organized plan on getting it.

Steve Harvey recommends writing out 300 of your desires and goals and dreams.

RHJ recommends a list of your dreams and goals and desires in order of importance.

Reverend Ike recommends being as specific as possible when writing down a desire. The exact make, model, and color of a car you desire, for example.

Review it frequently.

Right after waking up, throughout the day, and before sleep.

Steve Harvey says to read it after waking up and before going to sleep.

Reverend Ike recommends the same. And he even uses recorded affirmations of his goals played at a low volume at night to program his mind.

RHJ recommends reading it after waking, at noon, and before sleep.

Napoleon Hill recommends reading it out loud after waking up and before sleep. And to believe, see, and feel yourself already having your desire.

Believe, See, and Feel

Belief is thru repeated affirmations. In the mind and verbally.

Seeing is thru the “theater of your mind.” Imagination. Visualization.

Feeling is an emotion. Feel happy, excited, enthusiastic, and thankful in advance of getting it. Pretend you already got it and be super appreciative.

That is the basic premise of all the specific processes. Decide specifically what you want. Write it down. Review it frequently. Believe, see, and feel it to be true. Take inspired action. Take the next logical step. Plan and dream and imagine the next steps. Follow hunches and intuition.

Do all of this from inside the vortex (top 4 emotional vibrations) for maximum effectiveness.

NEVILLE’S IMAGINATION TECHNIQUE

There are many mind science techniques we can do and they all fall under a few categories. All of it has to do with different ways to focus the mind.

One category is Imagination. Using the inner senses to see, hear, taste, touch, and feel. You can also speak, write, and do things too. Everything that is done in the physical world, and more, can be done in the imaginary world. This is dreaming on purpose, while awake, in other words.

Neville was one of the main mind science teachers of our times and he described his imagination technique in this talk.

As far as I know, Neville only taught this one technique: to imagine as if your desire was fulfilled, while in a meditative (sleepy, drowsy) state.

The main requirement is that we must know exactly what we want. Be definite. Picture a happy scene right after this desire happened.

Give it the full sensory vividness of being true. And repeat this act night after night before going to sleep until you feel satisfied that it is done or it happens.

Somehow your desire will come true through a course of events and it will seem like it would have happened anyways!

But you will know why it came true for you, because you imagined it and made it feel real in the mind first.

LOA ACTION STEP: GATHER PICTURES ONLINE

We get what we think about. We get what we focus on. That is the basic principle of Mind Science (law of attraction).

One of the ways to spend time thinking and focusing is thru images. People make vision boards, treasure maps, and god boxes for this reason.

Action Step: Gather Pictures on Your Phone

Create the following album categories on your phone’s photo app. Spend some time focused on searching and finding images that match what you want.

1. Body

Pictures of the types of body you desire for yourself.

2. Work

Successful folks doing the types of work you want to do. Best selling authors, top athletes, best singers, best radio hosts, top chefs, etc.

For example, f you want to be a writer, find pictures that represent being a successful writer.

3. Wealth (or Income)

Find pictures that represent the wealth and income you desire. Pics of million dollar checks, income statements, large bank accounts, large investment accounts, etc.

4. Home

Find pics of the types of home you like and in the climate and neighborhood you like. Want to live in a certain country? State? City? Neighborhood? Condo, apt, townhome, single family home, mansion, etc.

5. Relationships

Pictures of happy loving couples that represent the type of relationship you desire.

Pictures of groups of friends that represent the type of social circle you desire.

6. Vehicles

The type of car or cars that you want.

7. Other categories that are important to you.

Find pics that represent self confidence. Good health. Happiness. Success. And so on.

The time spent focusing on this task is an investment that will pay off in the future. That is how creation happens, thru thinking and focusing.

You can also look at these albums frequently. Once a day. Twice a day, after waking and before sleep. Three times a day. Once every few days.

The time spent looking at the images counts too because what you see is what you get. This is self-programming the mind as opposed to automatically and randomly being programmed by outside sources.

LOA BASICS

Back to the basics as Abraham-Hicks teaches law of attraction.

This is my current interpretation:

1. Like vibration attracts like manifestations.

ie: Happy attracts Happy manifestations. Love attracts Love manifestations. Security and Well Being and Freedom attract Money, etc.

2. I create with my thinking.

Thinking includes all my inner senses of imagination, self talk, writing, typing, speaking, focusing, and paying attention with my outer senses (seeing, hearing, etc).

Whatever I spend most of my time thinking about comes more.

3. Emotions indicate current vibrational level. There are 22 levels according to Abraham’s Emotional Guidance Scale.

Emotions let me know if I am headed towards Good manifestations or Bad manifestations.

Whatever topic I feel strong positive or negative emotions about are about to materialize soon.

4. I shift my emotions (vibrational level) mostly using my Thinking and sometimes using Physical Action.

Being able to shift bad moods as soon as possible is the key.

5. The only goal is to maintain high vibrations (high emotions).

Thinking Good and Feeling Good are the main and only goals.

Different manifestations that match my emotions start arriving and keep arriving today and tomorrow and in the future.

It will happen thru my own actions and thru the actions of other beings who are the same wavelength. It has to happen, it will happen, that is law.

No one else can stop a being from Thinking and Feeling as they wish and thus attracting as they wish.

All of this takes practice, effort, time, and persistence to gain mastery. This is not a one time thing or a one day thing. This is an every day, all the time thing because we are Thinking all the time and we are moving up, moving down, or staying at the same emotional (vibrational) level to match our Thinking.

The master level is to Think how one wants and Feel how one wants no matter what is happening, where they are, or who they are with.

FEELINGS

I like this talk a lot. The Questioner really understands Abraham’s work.

The main key point here is that Feelings happen in the Solar Plexus area.

Feelings are a chemical reaction in the body and is a reflection of my Thinking patterns.

Feelings let me know which Vibration I am on right now. And my current Vibration brings me all the manifestations that match that level.

I change my Feelings thru the usual tried and true methods.

Think good-feeling thoughts (appreciation, love, joy) as soon as I wake up to set up today’s momentum.

And continue thinking good-feeling thoughts as much as possible throughout the day.

Finish the day with good-feeling thoughts of Appreciation before sleeping.

Meditate. Appreciate more. Listen to Happy high energy music. Move the body. Breathe slow and deep. Drink lots of water. Nature (sunshine, forests, parks, lakes, mountains, fresh air).

Do things that keep me happy. Listen to happy media (written, audio, video, images). Be around happy people.

Think happy memories. Notice happy things happening around me. Imagine happy scenarios. Speak and write happy words.

Give people benefit of the doubt. Wish them well. Know that they are doing their best. Don’t take offense no matter what. “Don’t sweat the small stuff. It is all small stuff.”

Reach a high vibration as soon as possible in the day and maintain it as long as possible. Get back to the high vibration when I get knocked off.

All of this is possible by paying attention to my internal gps, which are my emotions, which can be felt in my body, mostly around my solar plexus area.

Knowing my current emotions and being able to shift my emotions to a higher state is the whole game.

“Feeling gets the blessing” as Reverend Ike says and “Feeling is the secret” as Neville Goddard taught.

Faith is a feeling. Happiness and Excitement and Eagerness is a feeling. Passion is a feeling. Joy, Love, and Appreciation are a feeling.

THE EASY WAY AND THE HARD WAY

My definition of Easy Work is Aligned Work. Hard Work means Misaligned Work.

Those are the four quadrants I thought of when I think about Alignment versus Misalignment.

Then I thought to cross out #4. By definition, Ease (Easy) is Successful. Ease is by High Vibration and “in the vortex” as Abraham-Hicks and Louise Hay teach.

Lots of Successful people seem to be working hard from the outside. They may put in long hours but what we cannot know is how they feel.

When Aligned (Ease), the work you do is so Fun and Engaging and full of Passion that it gives you more Energy as you do it.

Aligned work is Energizing and one wants to keep doing it. “For the Love of the Game,” as Michael Jordan put it. Love is the highest vibration.

One can also work “hard” and be full of Dis-Ease and be successful too of course. That success may be monetary success or a high status (power) success but other parts of their lives (physical body, relationships) will show the Dis-Ease symptoms.

And there are many who work “hard” (dis-ease) and have no success to show for it too. They put it lots of UnAligned Effort and get nothing to show for it!

Some people who seem to be doing nothing, and it may seem like they are on the “Ease” path, but they are not and they do not have success. This is the #4 that I crossed out.

We do not know how they are Thinking and Feeling. “Lazy” or “unproductive” can mean they have a lot of “hard” Thinking patterns of dis-ease. Low vibratory thinking patterns.

Thinking incorrectly is actually a lot of “hard” work! That is why they do not have energy to do anything else! So all “Ease” by definition is Successful. One cannot be at true “Ease” and be unsuccessful or unhappy or unhealthy.

So in the pure sense, do what you Love and are Passionate about for the Easy way to success, though you may devote your entire time, energy, and effort into it and it may look like hard work from the outside.

It is actually Easy work, that’s why you can do it for so long and still want to do it the next day and the day after that.
